The Weather

People do really not understand the true and total effect weather has on freshwater fishing. It is without doubt the most influential aspect that must be learned to improve your fishing results...

MOON

  • Their is no scientific indications that the moon phases have any effect on freshwater fishing due to the fact that inland water do not have tidal factors.


WIND

  • Wind plays a very important roles in the feeding patens of freshwater fish. Wind direction may influence the temperature and oxygen levels of the water. It also may stirrup the sediment and move the nutrition's in the water that is followed by fish. 
  • Wind is the fisherman's friend.


AIR PRESSURE

  • This has a definite influence on the oxygen levels in the water. High pressure means warm and Low pressure means cold. It is very important to know that high pressure forces fish to feed closer to the bottom and low pressure the opposite. This means that we need to adapt to the feeding zones and we will still catch fish.


The important things to know is that temperature / oxygen levels and more need to be the considering aspect to take of then fishing. Knowing this will help us make calculated decisions and thus improve results.
